From the petite to the extravagant, Balloon Marquees defy the constructs of gravity in a cascading medley of curving tiers. Each balloon is specially hand-picked to cater to your mind’s perfect expression of appreciation, celebration, or “just because.”

The Balloon Marquee is one of the newest trending additions to balloon decor. It is so new that the balloon decorating industry has yet to settle on one name to describe these striking pieces. Recently, one colleague asked in a group, “How do you pronounce marquee?” That question spawned several eye-opening synonyms for ‘Balloon Marque.” Here are a few of the terms you might hear: Balloon Collage, Billboards, Grand Bouquet, Majestic Balloon Displays, Standing Balloon Bouquets, Spotlight Numbers, The Ultimate Birthday Surprise. I’m sure there are more too.

The Balloon Marquee is usually, if not all, an air-filled design. Sometimes helium balloons may be added. As an air-filled design, the expected longevity is excellent. I’d be remiss not to inject at this point that all balloons subject to heat, wind and people are variables that could cut down on the ‘normal’ longevity of balloon decor. Air-filled balloon decor kept in a moderate environment can last for months; of course, you’ll start to notice balloons deflating as time takes its course; we all grow old. It’s highly unlikely you’ll find a balloon artist guaranteeing the life of any balloon decor as once we leave the site, we cannot control the external variables. However, from experience and surprise, I’ve had organic styled air-filled displays in our local mall for up to one month.

I first saw these on Pinterest as maybe you have too. Genesis and Iravid Nieves, aka ‘the sisters’ out of Miami, FL are two of, if not ‘the’ leading pioneers of this style of balloon decor. Immigrating from Venezuela and now residing in Miami, FL, they own and operate Decoraciones Globos. I’ve had the pleasure of attending a class led by ‘the sisters’, and their energy is even bigger than the creations they’ve pioneered. If you’ve never seen them in action, you’re in luck.
